How to Get Over a Hangover Fast

Man partying in the morningEven I don’t always lead a perfect organic lifestyle. I have been known to drink a bit too much every now and then. If I know I am going out and may over indulge, I try to make sure I have these ready:

What to purchase ahead of time:

  • Organic kefir (I like goats milk kefir, do not get kefir sweetened with refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup)

    Bio-K

    Bio-K

  • Bio-K (probiotics – highly concentrated, and resistant to stomach acid)
  • Organic Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • VM 100 Buried Treasure Liquid Multi Vitamins (great source of vitamin C and all of your B’s, easily absorbed – very important at this time)
  • Standard Process Phosfood (opens kidneys, helps them work right)
  • Thorne SF722 (kills yeast, I know of nothing better for this)

All except the Standard Process Phosfood can be purchased at Whole Foods if you’re lucky enough to have one around. Also, some of the small health food shops will have all of these items including phosfood and the Thorne SF722.

Organic Hangover Cure

Before you go to sleep:

Take 5 of the Thorne SF722 and about 1/2 of teaspoon of phosfood (will need to mix with water).
Have a shot of cranberry juice, a swig of VM-100, and a glass of water. Don’t drink too much water at one time though.  It’s good to drink about two cups (16 ounces) now, and have more ready if you wake up thirsty.
If you’re hungry, drink some kefir.

When you wake up:

If you really overdid it, your stomach will be very sensitive and not likely to want to hold food down. I have found that kefir is easy on the tummy and perfect for this occasion. In addition it had beneficial bacteria, which one always needs after a night of drinking. Speaking of beneficial bacteria, that’s what the BIO-K is for. Take a few tablespoons of that. This is some of the most concentrated beneficial bacteria I’ve ever taken, and it really makes a difference.
Also, take all of the other supplements, about a dropper full of phosfood, a tablespoon of VM-100, about 4 to 6 more SF722’s, and another shot of cranberry juice.olm-august_page_67
Take a hot/cold shower (see Hot & Cold Hydrotherapy). If your lower back, is sore your kidneys are really hurting (this is common). A kidney press will help this. The way you perform this is push down (ideally have someone else do this for you) about 1/2 an inch below your below button for five minutes. If you feel sharp pain in your bladder or your kidneys (you’ll know) then you really need this.

Conclusion:

Of course, I am not advocating getting wasted. But, as I said, I have certainly been known for it. You might say I even had a bit of a reputation as a partier.
